Sugimura also has strength on cost reduction and shortening of lead time, which are

enabled by conducting multiple processes of manufacturing at one single factory.  For example, our Fukushima factory has capability of roll polishing while other processes such as shaft

repair and maintenance of suction roll cell also can be done at the same factory, thus reduce

cost, risk, and time waste which can be caused by transportation between workshops.  At

Kanagawa factory, balance adjustment can be done along with roll polishing. In addition to

perform multiple processes under one single roof, Sugimura applies techniques so as to avoid

unnecessary cut as much as possible in the roll polishing process, and also extend lifetime of

the rolls by maintaining wall thickness using “groove tracing” and other techniques. These

techniques contribute to customer satisfactions by realizing cost reduction.

 

Each and every roll working is tailored to meet the demands unique to each

customer.   Mirror finishing is made in the highest degree of accuracy.  Furthermore, in crown

treatments, the curving can be done not only in quadratic or quartic, but also, in free curving. 

Other technique such as polishing of the crown control and heated polishing with precision

polishing that corresponds to high operation temperature are also available.  Sugimura is proud to offer these solutions in diverse and flexible manner.  In addition, Sugiyama also has its

specialty in roll finishing of a unique configuration such as specially shaped roll.
